Agios Nikolaos


2500 were the people that decided to live in this village which is situated among green Mountain and the deep blue sea of Sigitikos Gulf 100 km from Thessaloniki.

In the picturesque square of Agios Nikolaos you can enjoy a coffee but raki also which is accompanied by delicious dishes called “mezedes”, local traditional homemade snacks.

The festival of Agia Paraskevi is organized on the 26th of July accompanied with a big number of cultural events. The visitor can then form an experiential opinion for the local traditions and the temperament of the residents.


Agios Nikolaos includes a lot of settlements. The closest is Pyrgos. Ιn its peak there is a castle which was built in the 14th century and witnesses the prehistorical existence of Pyrgos.

Many visitors characterize the beach that is under the ruins as one of the most beautiful in Greece.

It must be mentioned that this beach together with the beach of Livroxio is about 3 km.

Going further south the traveler will meet the port of Ormos Panagias, Lagonisi and Batara beaches which each one has its own unique beauty.


Just 14 km from Agios Nikolaos there’s the costal settlement of Vourvourou. Here you can find the most hotels and night clubs of Agios Nikolaos. The settlement of the professors of Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki was constructed in the area. The visitor of this resort must not miss to visit the stone temple which is probably a real ornament for the area.


The biggest beaches of Vourvourou are Karidi where the waters are shallow and Fava which is suitable for the bravest.

From Vourvourou until Sarti there are a lot of famous and popular campings with large numbers of visitors that have accommodation in them during the summer months.
